Music for the Month of March! | Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sandé

Ed Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is a songwriter currently signed under Atlantic Records. Sheeran was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire before moving to Framlingham, Suffolk. In his time in Suffolk, he was known to have flourished as a hidden talent when it came to music. He learned guitar at a very young age, and began writing songs during his time at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham. By the time Sheeran had left school, he was already certain that music was going to play a major part in his life, and therefore studied at Access To Music in Norwich before moving to London which improved his chances of getting gigs.

His latest album, +, is a masterpiece, and one I’m sure I’ll cherish for many years to come. Also, he won two Brit Awards, so what are you waiting for?

Emeli Sandé is a Scottish singer. A former medical student, Sandé has achieved two top 10 singles in the UK, by collaborating with rapper Chipmunk on his song Diamond Rings in 2009, and then with Wiley on his 2010 single, Never Be Your Woman. She supported Solange Knowles on tour. The Heaven Songfacts reports that she signed her first major record deal with Virgin Records in 2010 before signing another deal with EMI in 2011. Her debut single, Heaven, was released on August 14, 2011.

I’ll be listening to her album throughout the month as well! I’ve listened to a couple of her singles (including ‘Next To Me’ – bloody good song!) and she is brilliant, I love her voice.

I’ll leave you with the videos to some of Ed and Emeli’s songs… Enjoy!
